What is KNOW, GROW, GO?
We want to help everyone to know God, grow in Christ, and go serve the Lord by serving others in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Good News of Jesus and God's kingdom is that everyone can do this and more!
KNOW
God wants us to know him. Jesus came into this world to make the Father known to all of us. When we are baptized into Christ, we receive the Spirit of God into our hearts so that we may come to know God even more, so that we are constantly being changed and transformed into the likeness of Christ. Knowing God is what our faith and life are ultimately about. So, we want to help each other in every way that we can to know God, to know God's will, to know God's love, and to know God's calling on our lives.
As the family of God, we are all in this together. God wants us to love each other the way he loves us. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. We are to love one another deeply as Christ has loved us. This kind of mutual devotion requires that we know each other. We need to know each others' stories, dreams, disappointments, struggles and hopes. Afterall, this is how Jesus said the world will know that we are his disciples, when we love one another as he has loved us.
GROW
We want to help each other grow deeper and stronger in our faith in God, grow in our love and devotion to Christ, grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, grow in our prayers, grow in our relationships with other members of the body of Christ, grow in wisdom and the knowledge of God's Word, and grow up in all things into the likeness of Christ.
GO
At the heart of Christ's teachings is this simple idea: Go and do likewise. It is not enough to know the will of God; we must go and do it.
Everything God has taught us and revealed to us about how to live and love in this world, about his will and his ways, about his kingdom and his righteousness, God wants us to get out there and do it, to go and pursue all of these things in the strength and power that he provides. Our God is always with us, wherever we go.
The Father sent his Son into the world. The Father and the Son have sent the Spirit into the world. And now the Spirit sends the church into the world. We are to go and make disciples of all the nations. We are to share the Good News of Jesus and invite people into God's kingdom of light and love. And we are to go and be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
When we come together as the church, it is our mutual responsibility to spur one another on to love and good deeds. We are to constantly challenge and encourage each other to follow the example of Christ who put our interests ahead of his own. This is how we know that we have come to know the Lord, when we live as Jesus lived in this world.
Christ now lives in us. We are the body of Christ. So, we are to go into the world and our communities and make a difference for good by finding ways to love, help, and serve others, all for the glory of God.
