The Christian Campus Center at the University of Texas at Arlington is known as the Tri-C. This is a campus ministry supported by Churches of Christ. Woodland West has been involved both financially and through volunteers and has a growing relationship.
In order to further the kingdom of God, we want to be involved in the next generation of the church. Understanding that the church of tomorrow, is here today. Our AIMers have also intern there, gaining valuable insight into college ministry. They applied those lessons to Woodland West's young adult ministry.

There are several different ways you can either support or volunteer to serve in this campus ministry at UTA.

1. Donate food items for the food pantry. (See this week's list.)

The UTA/TRI-C food pantry serves over 400 students a month! This ministry was established to help combat food scarcity at UTA. Studies show that 25% of any given campus will go hungry week to week. The food pantry is completely run off of donations, all food and basic care items. The Tri-C needs weekly donations in order to keep its doors open and the students fed.

A list of specific donations currently needed can be found below. This list is updated on a regular basis.
2. Serve in the food pantry
If interested in serving in the food pantry, please contact Cyndi Needels at tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com.
3. FriendSpeak
FriendSpeak is a ministry that teaches conversational English using the Bible! Volunteers meet weekly with the readers while going through a workbook provided by Let's Start Talking. FriendSpeak is a branch of LST and actually began at the Tri-C. We need more volunteers who are able to commit to weekly meetings. Scheduled times are below. If you are unable to meet during these times but still wish to be involved, contact Jerry (see contact below).

In-person and online meetings are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.

Other times are available upon request.

For more information, contact Jerry Sandoval at jerrysandoval@gmail.com.
4. Serve meals to students
The Tri-C provides free lunches as an effort of outreach. We are looking for volunteers who can help serve lunches and clean up afterwards: Individuals, small groups, and anyone who is able. Inviting students into our building through these free meals gives them an opportunity to meet our community and learn what the Tri-C is all about. This ministry blesses our community and other students looking for a meal and place to rest in-between classes.

If you are interested, please contact Cyndi Needels at tri.c.cyndi@gmail.com
5. Volunteer for workdays to improve the campus center
Every now and then the Tri-C hosts a workday in order to accomplish tasks around the building. This helps our staff keep the place looking great and establishes a welcoming environment. If you are a tradesman and have special skills or just want to give a helping hand, then we can put your name into a contact list for when we need help.

If you are interested, please contact Eddie Stinson at erstinson@gmail.com.

6. If you have an idea

Contact Eddie Stinson at erstinson@gmail.com if you have an idea for what you would like to do to make a difference at the Christian Campus Center.

Pantry List
November 20, 2025

Hey everyone,
It's always so amazing to me to see the exact items I've asked for showing up in our donation room. We are a good team! Thank you for catching the ball when I toss it.
Our greatest needs are:
  • pasta (1 lb bags/boxes)
  • granola bars
  • peanut butter
If you would like to donate but can't do your own shopping, you can donate money directly to the Tri-C and we will get the things that are most needed. Here is the link to donate: Donate to the Tri C at UTA - THE TRI C AT UTA
Thanks and Blessings,

Tri-C Leadership

We have a great staff this year.  Our student
leaders are doing an amazing job of accepting responsibility and following through on it. It is truly a blessing to work side-by-side with these young adults as we help prepare them for their future leadership roles in the churches and ministries they will be involved with for the rest of their lives.  Please lift these student leaders in your prayers often as they seek to balance the demands of their studies with the opportunities of the Tri-C ministry.

Planning For The Future
Just so you know, plans are being drawn up for remodeling the Tri-C building.  We have a great building that’s in the perfect location on campus but it is time to update it.  The reality is that many students judge the quality of the ministry on the inside based on the appearance of the building on the outside.  Stay tuned for more information soon.
